That’s why so much of our handyman work happens right before a painting project: we repair the surface properly, then finish it beautifully — one contractor, one schedule, one standard of quality.
We handle light carpentry and finishing work throughout the house: installing and repairing trim, molding, and baseboards; patching and skim-coating drywall; adjusting doors that stick; repairing window casings; and the small household repairs that pile up on every homeowner’s list. If it needs to look finished when we leave — clean joints, smooth surfaces, tight lines — it’s our kind of job.
Punch-list projects are a specialty. Selling a house in Trumbull? Just closed on one in Newtown? Hand us the inspection list and we’ll work through it methodically, from doorstops to drywall. Is any job too small?
No. A few hours of small repairs — a sticking door, a drywall patch, loose trim — is a perfectly good project. We also bundle small jobs together so one visit covers your whole list.
Can you repair walls and then paint them?
Yes — that combination is our sweet spot. Drywall repair, skim coating, priming, and a full repaint in one seamless project, so the repair disappears completely.
Do you do pre-sale or inspection punch lists?
Yes. We regularly work through inspection reports and realtor punch lists for homeowners across Eastern Fairfield County, prioritizing the items that matter most for your closing date.
Are you licensed for this work?
Yes. DH Painting is a licensed Connecticut Home Improvement Contractor (HIC# 0702775) based in Monroe, and all of our handyman and finishing work falls under that license.
